Korean is now working on to introduce Giga internet which is faster 10 times from fiber optic LAN connection. That's more faster than other internet speed around the world. This will make Korean still the top in world internet connection speed.
This project is being carried out by Korea Communication Commision. This project aims to develop a Giga-level trial network with the public
and government matching fund and present future broadcasting and
communications convergence services of high quality and large scale such
as 3D IPTV, multi-angle IPTV, HD Home CCTV service and TV multi-media
messenger service to 2,000 households by the end of 2012.
The plan is going to cost about $24.6 billion and will create 120,000 jobs. This cost is 2 times higher from implemetation on HSBB project in Malaysia.
